I'm making a career change and moving ever more into the public speaking industry. I don't believe that any of this would have been possible if I hadn't become a member of Toastmasters International first, so it is quite sobering to remember that I only became a member by accident.
The full story–and information for anyone who is thinking of joining the public speaking and leadership organisation–can be found in this article: 'Toastmasters—How I Joined and Why I’m Staying' which I published nearly a year ago, but quite forgot to mention it here. Anyway, enjoy!
This post is an introduction to the FULL article, which you can read by pressing the button below.
Hi Tayo! This is an amazing article that you have got here. The toast master is quite interesting and the information you have given has opened up a solid understanding of what i should expect at such events. And I am pretty much ready to give the toast master a trial, hopefully I become convinced.
Thanks for sharing this with me.

Hello, Awinikistevie.
(I am unfamiliar with your name; is it from South Africa?)
I'm glad that you have a better understanding of the Toastmasters organisation now. By the way, the organisation is spelt without a space between the words 'toast' and 'masters'. To find a club near you, please visit this link: https://www.toastmasters.org/f…. If you are having any difficulties, get in touch with me and I'll see what I can do to help.
Have a wonderful day.
Kind regards,
Tayo

Hello, Sheddy.
Thank you for your comment. If you enjoyed the article, maybe you can look up and find a Toastmasters club near you–they are all over the world. If you can't find one, consider starting the club yourself. Toastmasters will help you all that they can.
Kind regards,

Public speaking is all about confidence and knowing your content well. I have concurred public speaking myself when I was younger. Boy it sure was tough though. It's one of those things that practice makes perfect. The more I did it, the less stressed I would get right before.
Finally I got to a point where it was just like any other job. I do think that training like Toastmasters are a great way to help and give you the skills you need to succeed. Great job and am so happy for your success.
I couldn't agree with you more. How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice, of course. It sounds as if you were a Toastmaster yourself once. If you can spare the time, I'd like to hear some more about your experience. Please feel free to pop round whenever you can and drop me line.
